Technically speaking, it is not possible to be charged more than once. Nonetheless, the same transaction might be listed twice on the statement: one entry for the authorization* and the second one for the actual charge.
*What exactly is an authorization? The authorization occurs before the actual charge is processed and does NOT represent a charge. The duration of this authorization varies by bank and by card type. These authorizations might temporarily block the amount of the order, but will expire and drop off your account if the transaction is not completed. Typically, In order to prevent confusion, your issuer will list this on your statement as “Pre-Authorisation”, “Authorisation” or “Pending”. If your online bank account or bank’s website do not include such indication, please contact them using the number on the bank of the card and they will be able to clarify the situation.
